Hi! We're Full Blown Trombone.
... and we're so excited to meet you.

I'm the studio founder, Angela Johnson.

I know that parents and students have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a private instructor. At Full-Blown Trombone, our mission is to enrich students' lives through music. Music means different things to different people at different points in their lives, and we aim to support and encourage students at every point along the path.
We value:
-
consistent weekly instruction with built-in structured fluidity,
-
high-caliber instruction (check out our supremely talented teachers!),
-
and fun Full-Blown Trombone community events
We know that students’ lives are chaotic at times, and we make sure that their lesson time never is!
Boy, is it hard to be a kid these days!! We have a student/parent portal, yearly studio calendar, monthly newsletters and regular studio subs (in case a student’s regular teacher needs to miss a lesson)! In the event that a student needs to miss a lesson, they can sign up for any monthly make-up day, and we even offer online lessons if the location or weather is inconvenient!

Our Studio's growth has allowed us to hire some amazing teachers.
Our teachers are top-notch. I'm proud to have Kirsten Lies-Warfield, Ashleigh Naude, Abhinn Malhotra, and Carter Jackson as a part of the team!

Here at Full Blown Trombone, we're more than a studio or a private lesson, we are a community.
We have about 5 studio-wide events each year , including a back-to-school party, holiday performances, masterclasses, and a studio recital, when all students are invited to come together and play. This builds up our students' sense of community and belonging and makes music-making more fun! (Plus, there are always snacks! Do we know your students or what?!)
If you have any students who you think might benefit from individualized instruction, you can send them to FBT for a free no-commitment trial lesson. We’ll be able to get to know each other a little bit, and start with an assessment of what’s going well and what areas of a student’s playing might benefit from some work. We’ll do some of that work during the trial lesson to see if we can solve any problems right then! We’ll also give them some exercises to do at home to continue in the right direction. If the student loves it as much as we hope they will and joins our studio community, we'll work with them diligently! We'll encourage and support them in solo and ensemble festivals, recitals and honors band auditions! You'll always be able to email us with questions or concerns about students, and we'll make sure to address them in lessons.
